Simpro at scale meets AR on the job

You run Simpro because the work spans multiple trades, multiple branches and a hundred-plus technicians. TrainAR sits next to it: jobs flow into the on-glasses agent with the trade-skill bundle that fits the work, AR session summaries flow back into the originating Simpro job.

The scale problem we keep hearing about

When a maintenance contractor grows past around 80 technicians, training stops being something the operations director can keep in their head. Simpro holds the schedule, the jobs and the employee records - but the on-the-job knowledge an engineer needs the moment they open up an unfamiliar appliance lives somewhere else: in a manual, in a senior engineer's head, in a Slack thread that nobody can find at 2pm on a Tuesday.

TrainAR sits next to Simpro and closes that gap. Each Simpro job carries the right trade-skill bundle through to the engineer's glasses; the on-glasses agent answers voice questions about the brand and model in front of them; AR session summaries post back to the originating Simpro job so the office and the auditor can see what actually happened.

    Sync architecture

For the IT folks reviewing the integration before sign-off.

    Connection

    • Auth: OAuth2. Tokens held in a secure vault, never in TrainAR's database.
    • Account config: your Simpro build subdomain (e.g. acme.simprosuite.com).
    • Polling: 15-minute default. Configurable per account. Webhook trigger optional.
    • Region: matches your Simpro region (UK/EU/US/AU).

    Entities synced

    • Jobs: read on poll, write notes & attachments on session complete.
    • Employees: read on poll, matched to TrainAR users by email.
    • Cost centres: available in TrainAR Reports for ROI breakdown by branch.
    • Custom fields: mappable to TrainAR session metadata.

    Multi-trade by design

You probably dispatch across mechanical, electrical, fabric, fire and security in the same week. TrainAR groups engineers by trade skill and routes the matching bundle of AR procedures and knowledge to each one.

    Trade-skill aligned content

Each Simpro employee maps to a TrainAR user with a trade skill (mechanical, electrical, fabric, fire, security and more). Bundles deliver the right AR procedures and knowledge to each seat - so the engineer who arrives at the job has the right brand-specific manuals and procedures already on the glasses.

    AR coaching during the job

The on-glasses Core Training Agent answers voice questions about the brand and model in front of the engineer, surfaces the right page of the manufacturer manual, walks the relevant procedure step-by-step.

    Session evidence in Simpro

AR session summaries, plus photos and videos captured on the glasses, post back into the originating Simpro job record. The office and any auditor can see exactly what happened on the job without changing tools.

    Branch-level reporting

TrainAR Reports breaks AR session activity, time-on-task and completion rates by Simpro cost centre. Show the board which branches are using AR training and which need attention.

    Work Simpro hands-free, by voice

Once Simpro is connected, the on-glasses agent can act on your live Simpro data by voice - no phone, no laptop, hands on the job. The engineer just asks.

Pull the job in front of you

Find the engineer's active jobs, search a job, and read its full detail - customer, site, status and description - read live from Simpro while they work.

    Parts and assets on demand

Look up a part in the Simpro catalogue, see the parts and labour already booked on the job, and check the customer assets on site.

    Notes written for you

The engineer describes what they did; the agent writes a clean note straight onto the Simpro job diary, including the parts used.

Photos and forms onto the job

Attach a site photo to the job, and generate a Simpro form such as a job card from your own Simpro templates, rendered as a PDF on the job.

The agent fills and renders your existing Simpro form templates - it works with what Simpro already defines, it does not replace it.

    A typical enterprise rollout

From kick-off to "running in every branch."

    Week 0
Kick-off, Simpro connection, sandbox account. Identify one branch as the pilot.
    Weeks 1–2
Map your Simpro job types to TrainAR trade skills and bundles. We help with the mapping - nobody does this from scratch.
    Weeks 3–4
Pilot branch on AR glasses. 10–15 engineers. Daily standup with the operations lead to refine bundle assignments and content.
    Weeks 5–8
Branch-by-branch rollout. One branch per week is comfortable. Each new branch gets the playbook from the last.
    Ongoing
Quarterly review of AR session uptake and reporting breakdown by cost centre. Adjust bundle assignments as the work mix changes.

Plan your Simpro + TrainAR rollout

Enterprise rollouts deserve a conversation, not a self-serve wizard. Tell us about your branches and we'll come back with a phased plan.
