Ask anyone in field service the same question and you get the same worried pause: where is the next generation of engineers coming from?
We built TrainAR to answer that. Today we are announcing a partnership that makes the answer a lot stronger. Parts Arena, the UK's most widely used boiler and heating parts catalogue, is now built directly into TrainAR. Exploded diagrams, manuals, component images and manufacturer part codes are available hands-free on the AR glasses, the moment an engineer needs them.
What the integration does
Parts Arena is built by Infomill and trusted by merchants and engineers across the country for accurate part lookups. Now it lives on the glasses.
On a job, a trainee can:
- Identify the boiler in front of them and pull up the right exploded diagram
- Read manuals and component images without putting a tool down
- Confirm the correct manufacturer part number by voice, hands-free
No phone, no laptop, no flicking through a paper manual with dirty hands. The information comes to the engineer, in the lens, while they work. It is live now through the Parts & Spares bundle.
Why it matters
The trade has a real skills gap. Experienced engineers are retiring faster than the industry can replace them, and decades of know-how leaves with them. The fix is not just training more people, it is capturing what the best engineers know and putting it in front of newer ones at the exact moment they need it.
That is what TrainAR does. An experienced engineer or trainer wears the glasses and works through a procedure. TrainAR captures the expertise and composes mixed reality training sessions from the best parts of every matching trainer session on the platform. Pair that with Parts Arena's trusted technical data and a trainee gets a genuine real-world learning experience, backed by the same parts library the whole industry relies on.
The hardware
TrainAR runs on leading smart glasses including the Vuzix Blade 2, the Inmo Air 3 and the new Mentra glasses, combining real-time visual guidance, spatial audio and AI support. Engineers see contextual information while they work, identify components, and build practical skills in real environments.
In their words
"The trades have a real skills gap. Experienced engineers are retiring faster than we can replace them, and taking decades of know-how with them. Bringing Parts Arena into TrainAR means a trainee learning a boiler on our AR glasses has the exploded diagrams, manuals and live part lookup right there, hands-free, the moment they need it. And this is the industry helping itself, two companies rooted in the trade working together to drive fresh talent into construction and keep it alive."
Ettan Bazil, Founder and CEO, TrainAR
"This partnership is particularly exciting because it addresses a challenge that everyone in our industry is talking about: the skills gap. We need to find better ways to capture expertise, transfer knowledge and help new engineers become competent more quickly. TrainAR's smart glasses technology is a fantastic example of how innovation can support that goal. Combined with PartsArena's trusted technical data, we're helping put the right information in front of engineers when they need it most. It's a genuinely exciting step forward for training and knowledge sharing across the industry."
Alison Chappell, Sales and Marketing Manager, Infomill
The bottom line
The skills challenge will take years to solve. But putting trusted technical information and real expertise in front of engineers, hands-free, at the moment they need it, is exactly the kind of step that moves the needle. Parts Arena on the glasses is live today. If you want to see it on a job, come and talk to us.
